F-M Walleyes Unlimited Inc. is teaming-up with River Keepers, an Environmental Conservation Organization in Fargo. We need 12 volunteers to assist with this activity. With your help kids of all ages will learn about casting, knot tying, fish identification and more. Youth participants will also fish the Red River to compete for a chance to win a trophy for the biggest and most fish derby to follow. Volunteers just need to show up, no equipment. For those kids (and parents) attending, you are encouraged to bring a fishing pole, however a limited supply of fishing gear and all the bait will be provided.
Youth - Kids 15 and under are welcome to attend. Bring fishing equipment, worms will be provided. Awards presented at the end of the event.
Volunteers - We are looking for 5 (five) volunteers to assist.
Held this week each year, Tuesday is “Fishing Day”, sponsored by Cormorant LIONS Club, an event they have promoted since the camp's existence. With our help, we provide rods, tackle, bait, and transportation on the lake. FM Walleyes Unlimited Inc. volunteers provide a boat and a quality experience. We are in need of boat captains. If you can help, please register. Suggested arrival time is anytime before 1 p.m. at the Y-Camp.
Festivities kick-off Friday evening with a family picnic and a rules meeting. Saturday’s tournament begins with boat inspection and valet trailer parking when launching your boat. At the end of the fishing day, teams are escorted to the weigh-in where each team is interviewed live and on-stage about the events of the day. Volunteers are needed for set-up and each segment of the event, as well as tear-down. All registration for competitors as well as volunteers are handled through the event directors.
